The Test Strips are intended as a fast and easy-to-use indicator of the infection condition of your urine. See your doctor or urologist for more detailed advice about interpreting the results of the test strips.

1. Urinate into a clean container.

2. Remove one test strip and close the container tightly. Dip the strip into the urine for 2 seconds. Tap off the side of the container to remove excess. Excess that passes between the urine reagents on the strip invalidates the results.

3.Observe the reagent patches on the test strip. The first item to check (after 30 seconds) is the pH 2nd from bottom.

a. If the reagent has gone Orange, thats too acidic.

b. If it has gone deep green thats too alkaline.

You can adjust your urine pH by diet. See/call a dietician. (Try the Yellow Pages).

4.Check the Protein (middle one). Any greenish/ turquoise indication is a sign of the presence of protein. The darker it is, the more is present. This usually means your kidneys are involved in an infection. See your doctor for advice.

5.Check for red Blood. Any green coloration means blood presence (red blood cells). If the reagent goes deep green within 60 seconds of dipping the strip, it means a lot of blood in your urine. This can be caused by a number of different things. See your doctor for advice.

6. Check for Nitrites next (2nd top indicator) Nitrites are cracked from Nitrates by bacteria, so any pink coloration means bacterial presence.

7. Check the final reagent (the top one) for Leucocytes (white blood cells). Any pink coloration within 2 minutes of dipping the strip means inflammation is present and perhaps bacteria.

The more colouration on the strip within the time frames indicated, the more certain it is that bacteria are present, and at higher concentrations. To have your urine checked to find out detailed information about bacterial strains and kidney involvement, or for further interpretation of the results, see your doctor or other medical expert.
